Pop it like it’s Hot!
Ria Stark…Cake Popper? Remember my dear friend expecting soon and those prettiful Baby Shower Invitations? In my thorough(?) research in creating some seriously flash-as stuff for the Baby Shower, I knew I had to try my hand at Cake Pops!
Haven’t heard of them? Well, although I pride myself at being in the know, my idea of what I thought they were was kinda NOT the same.
Fiabots[1] aside, I’ve been googling all week for a master Cake Popper and it became evident that Bakerella is pretty much a Baws! at both making AND decorating them.
Essentially your basic Cake Pop is crumbled cake mixed with frosting (or icing), rolled into balls on a lollipop stick, then dipped into melted chocolate and decorated accordingly.
Here’s the Basic Cake Pop Recipe and some handy Step-by-Step pics with hints:)
What you need to get Cake Popping:
- Cake (Any flavour)
- Betty Crocker’s Creamy Deluxe Milk Chocolate Frosting
- Wilton Candy Melts (For dipping and coating)
- Robert’s Confectionary Lollipop Sticks (Or they’d just be Cake Balls…sounds so not right…for some of us
- Polystyrene Block (I just used some from the packaging of a computer)
And BOOM! Cake Pop Experiment One done and dusted…
I’m relieved something positive resulted from this experiment and on my way to purchase alternative decorating ingredients and hopefully perfect them with a smooth finish!
Happy Sunday people and relaxing to the latest DJ V-Mix xx
