Don’t make an ASS out of yoU and ME!

Have you ever just wanted to uppercut yourself?  I recently purchased the latest version of Logic Pro 9, digital studio software for Macs, and against all logical and rational thought, tricked myself into believing I would finally have my very first Bad-Ass Mutha-Trucking Mixtape out by the weekend!  Yes, a whole three days later!

That’s right, it may take the professionals a bit longer, but hello, this is ME we’re talking about, I’m like genius material, I’ll just watch a few YouTube clips then ta-da! Bob’s your uncle!  Well, in short, I don’t have an Uncle Bob and I am no closer to making a Mixtape than I was four days ago!

Epic Fail right thurr! I just set myself up for failure because I set an UNREALISTIC goal without investing enough thought and planning into the process!  How can a genius like me make such a rookie grasshopper mistake like that?  Truth be told, humans make mistakes from time to time so we can learn and grow from those experiences and this is just one of those big fat REALITY checks!

So what have I learnt from my 90 whole hours in the music producing business?

Sometimes being uber excited about creating something awesome can cloud your judgement and throw ALL logic out the window, even for seemingly logical thinkers like myself!  Normally I would read up on all there is to know about something before purchasing, but this time I let emotions get in the way! Business 101:  Don’t make business decisions based on emotions! #truestory

Now my next logical step is to actually READ the Help Centre document, which low and behold explains how to actually USE the program!  Who would’ve thought such a document would accompany a product?  Genius I tell ya! Genius!

Something brilliant did emerge from my bots-ness!  Whilst whingeing to my sister about not finding any relevant YouTube clips, she’s helped me realise what my next course of ACTION will be and I’m almost hesitant to say it, because then I have to actually DO IT! Cos that’s just how we roll dagnamit!

I’ll be documenting my progress while exploring Logic Pro 9 and hopefully by the end of it I’ll have a pretty Bad-Ass Mutha-Trucking Mixtape and a helpful “How to” guide for those of us who have neither the time nor the patience to scan through instruction booklets.

Ciao for now, shyte to do!
