THIS girl is on Fire!

Somebody FIRE me!  I recently had the pleasure of being in the presence of an inspirational author and phenommmmenal woman Lani Wendt-Young on her visit to Sydney, launching her latest book titled, “When Water Burns” the second instalment of the award-winning Telesa Trilogy.

It was an exceptional night to say the least and another awe-inspiring/A-ha-Take-on-Me moment in time for two reasons.

Firstly, few people have the capacity to command the attention of an audience with a humble heart and a generous spirit. Lani Wendt-Young is one of those people. Sure she had a few “Hot Mans” strutting around the joint but her passion for storytelling is both compelling and captivating.  Now I understand why two of her biggest FANS, my cousin and my older sister, yes YOU Setz and Reen, sing her praises.  She is the epitome of persistence and hard work with the support of a loving “Hot Man” and family and not only endorses but personifies one of my favourite phrases “Dare to Dream!”

Speaking of dreamers, we also unveiled the work of an equally inspiring woman in my life, emerging artist, not to mention one of my older sisters, Maureen Unasa of http://samoanweavinghq.com/  Usually a cool, calm and collection type, she exhibited rather “Star-struck uber geek” traits when meeting Lani #laugh and chatting about her entry into the Sydney Telesa Art Competition.  Her piece was her interpretation of Telesa Spirit Women of Earth, Water, Fire and Air appropriately titled “Elements of a Warrior.”  But unlike the NZ Warriors, she actually won the Art Competition, chosen by Lani herself, which will feature in the final book “The Bone Bearer.”

This particular evening and recent events in my life have highlighted the need for making my VACATION my vocation! And we all know I love myself a little vacay!  Putting it loosely, “Do what you LOVE and LOVE what you do!”

DJ Set-Up
Keeping the dream alive!

The only thing saving my sanity at the moment is jamming:)  I’ve had a bit of practice time at home after work thanks to my cousin lending me his gears for the past few weeks, so I get to escape the first-world problems of the daily grind.

The final take-home message from the launch was “Do it well…and do it NOW!”  Perfect for a Monday…the bayssst dayyy of the weeeeek #fakesmile

As for me, I’ll be bopping on my way to work, listening to this fullah!  Ex-Oh-Ex-Oh
